What is a WYSIWYG Editor?

Wednesday, 30 January 2008 4:50 PM

WYSIWYG is an industry acronym for What You See Is What You Get.

In the context of a website Content Management System (CMS), a WYSIWYG Editor allows administrators without knowledge of HTML to directly enter website content (punctuated text etc.) into the editor, which in turn automatically generates the underlying HTML code required to display the formatted content on the website.
