Feature Update

The new features we mentioned in the last update are now live (Advanced Shopping Cart, Full Text Search, and Multi-Language support). Additional to this, the following new features are now also available:

  • Automated User e-mail Changing: those of you who'd expressed interest would already know that this is a big time-saver and a very useful feature. It's a simple task in most cases to enable this feature - if you'd like it, please contact our office on 03 9329 1022 or raise a support ticket.
  • Messenger Campaign Pre-Scheduling: you can now schedule Messenger Campaigns ahead of time using the 'Scheduling' option in the final stage of Messenger Campaign Transmission. Stand by for a major upgrade to Messenger's interface in coming weeks.
  • Including Mail-Merge information in Messenger Subject Lines: This was requested by a couple of clients, and is a great addition - imagine how much impact your Campaigns will have with 'John, here's your March Newsletter' as the subject line!

A good number of our clients are using these new features to great advantage. If you'd like to discuss any of these new additions, or as always if you have any feature suggestions, please raise a support ticket or give our office a call on 03 9329 1022.

Spam-bot and Unethical Search Engine Traffic

After unusually high page-per-visit readings across all sites during January and February, we have conducted a full audit of visitor statistics back through to December last year and discovered that since late December a number of unethical search engine spiders and an unusually high volume of spam-bot traffic has been systematically trawling the IASP Client network, and making great pains to forge activity that pretends to be actual client traffic.

This is not a cause for concern unless you've placed e-mail addresses in plain text, as the IASP CMS hides e-mail addresses from crawlers with either the Enquiry System, or Contact Forms, however it has affected page-per-visit figures across many websites. We've established a method for identifying this traffic and the offending data has been removed from your statistics - your visitor count figures will be almost completely unaffected, however pages per visit will have changed as a result. We will continue to audit visitor traffic for any further anomalies. If you have any queries or concerns about this please call our office on 03 9329 1022.

Search Engine Optimisation(SEO)

Whilst not yet a household term, search engine optimisation is something that more and more IASP clients are enquiring about, and indeed implementing. It won't be long until your competitors are search engine optimisation (SEO) savvy, and actively seeking an edge ahead of you.

SEO is the science of increasing your website's visibility to search engines. Based upon various factors (site content, popularity, linking, development framework), it is the most cost effective form of marketing your business may undertake.

Already receiving an overwhelming response from IASP clients who have subscribed to our SEO services, we encourage more clients to gain better return on their website investment. The IASP SEO Package provides you with the tools to organically optimise your website keywords, drawing upon your industry knowledge.

Experience the wealth of benefits of reaching so many more potential search engine users - who are seeking your products and services - that do not know you are there! For information on SEO - in conjunction with the IASP Managed Business Network - please visit our public website Solutions page (SEO Explained), or feel free to give me a call on (03) 9329 1022.

IASP Flash Generator

The IASP Flash Generator is available now and is having a huge impact on many of our clients' websites. Designed to visually take your website to the next level. It provides websites with a more dynamic and contemporary look and feel while ensuring administrators stay in control of the content within. It allows site administrators to create and update flash animations using the same easy to use tools they use to update the rest of the content within their websites.

The Flash Generator is ideal for displaying seasonal products, marketing campaigns, sales, upcoming events or just to add some animation to an otherwise static page. All images are loaded as they are needed and optimised to ensure the best overall site performance is preserved. To see how the IASP Flash Generator has been used to improve other clients' websites and to discuss the benefits it may hold for you, please feel free to give me a call on (03) 9329 1022.
